DUCIE
In 2010 Andy Dinan and Ian Fletcher teamed up to make an album that brought together their many musical influences. Using old traditional tunes, new compositions and heavy percussion, they produced an album of great energy and drive. With Richard Sliwa and Jon Thorne coming on board the following year and playing on the album - it seemed perfect sense to form DUCIE.
Ducie explores many different musical influences ranging from Irish, Breton, Eastern European, Blues, Reggae, Flamenco, Indian and Funk. They take traditional tunes and original compositions over a broad musical landscape intertwining all types of tunes with a basic philosophy, "If the Tune stands on its own - use it" It's music for your ears and feet driven along with heavy Afro-Cuban and Indian percussion.
Album on its's way!
The album will be out in April 2012. Recorded through the summer of 2011 weve joined up with Midnight Mango Productions and we are now ready to go out and finally play it live. Lee Mulvey has agreed to play bass with us when Jon Thorne is unavailable.
Listen to Ducie now!
DUCIE is the brand new band from Ian Fletcher, Andy Dinan, Richard Silwa and Jon Thorne. It’s so new it hurts... they’ve been grafting hard and recorded a cracking album of tunes, some of which you can hear from here...
